Darkness Waiting
She waited
Waited for the rebels to break the gates
Those protected gates of reality
She waited years
Alone
But no one saved her
No one came
The protective barriers remained
The pain overwhelmed
Her fears became reality
The tears fell, hot and angry
The rage came
The clapping thunder of fury
Dreams dissipated
And imagination vanished
The real world waited
Her mind became true
No lies
No inspiration
No one there
The inside of the gates darkened
A deafness fell
Swirling clouds of stark, brutal truth
No hope remained
