Just For Me
Just for you,
I’ll laugh and I’ll smile
Whenever people are near
I won’t cry or show my true feelings
So everyone won’t see
Just how much you’ve broken me
I’m not going to gather all the pity I can
I won’t be the victim, the martyr
I won’t make you look like the bad guy
I’ll say it was great while it lasted
It was fun, it was love
Though now it’s come to an end
And I’ll be just fine
You and I,
We both know it’s not true
Because in my heart, I’m not nearly over you
But I’ll take your rejection
With light-hearted grace
And put up a fake smile on my face
You can’t die from heartbreak,
This I do know
But I don’t feel alive
Like I was before
So please, before you go
Take into consideration how much you mean to me
And how much I love you
So that maybe, just maybe
You’ll stay
Just for me
