Heart of Gold
I shed a tear
A tear that runs down my face
Runs down my face, dropping onto my heart
My heart that has been silent and empty for so long
So long, but no more
No more, for the tear has soaked into my very essence
Revealing a heart of gold
I was lost in a storm of pain
Pain that didn’t go away
Didn’t go away, letting me know I wasn’t dead yet
Not yet free from the pain and sorrow
Pain and sorrow that stabbed at my soul
My soul that awakened me
Revealing a heart of gold
I am awake from my slumber
A slumber that almost killed me
Almost, until he brought reality
Reality that if I die, I leave him
Leave him alone
Alone in a world of horror
But he would be the savior
Revealing a heart of gold, my heart of gold
