Mirror
Mirror
A silver pane, smooth and still
No one breathes
Suffocating silence
The glass is cold and merciless
Look through to the one you hate,
A world reflected in retrograde
Eyes searing through
Questioning sanity, a tear falls
Overtaken,
A surge of anger
The bite of glass as a fist falls
Webs of hate branch out.
The sickly sound brings pleasure
The mask you wear, deformed as the pieces fall.
Crash to the ground and shatter.
A scream your ears cannot hear
Suffocating silence.
Drops of red rain on the glittering shards
Reflections dance across the walls
Red streams creep over the scars,
Suspended,
They join the star strewn mezzanine.
Air so still
No one breathes
Suffocating silence
