I Hate This Song
Her brow creases
listening to the radio.
She says to me,
“Do you ever wonder
Why no one seems to care
about classics bands anymore?
“Pink Floyd,
The Rolling Stones,
Metallica
and
The Beatles
“What about artists like
Elvis Presley,
Buddy Holly,
Elton John
or
David Bowie?
“Today, it’s all about the next great
rapper, like
Lil’ Wayne
or
Baby Bash…
“Where are the lyrics that matter,
that really mean something?
Now songs are all about
sex and doing drugs…”
She contemplated for a moment,
then changed the song on the radio.
