Strange Hands
Anna doesn't wanna play anymore
She let go of the chain, tying her to your clouds,
and now that her smile isn't so beautiful,
you wish she never came back down
Bright lights? Where? Am I exploding in the mind?
You talk me through directions,
to guide my fingers to your heart;
yeah the heart between your legs,
but what about me?
What about my desire to sleep; to cry; to will myself underwater,
where I'll choke on God's hands and he can hold me here,
under his stars
Anna doesn't know she doesn't play anymore
You coil your pale hands at the pit of her back,
but are you really looking into her eyes?
Are you really smiling oh so deeply,
as you encourage her own with a profession of your love?
Anna hears,
but doesn't believe,
the hands of God wait for her,
but she'll never feel them if she doesn't calm her disease
Don't you know three words could mean nearly anything in the world?
But when Anna hears those three words,
she loosens her lace to prove she's more than Momma's girl
