Flood
We are running, scared
We weren’t ready
We were unprepared
We know we aren’t strong enough
To face these conditions
Of life’s curveballs,
Rollercoaster,
And too many expectations
We try so hard
Only to earn what?
Fall flat on our faces,
Earn minimum wages,
And too many fines
And when we are through
Paying life’s unexpected dues,
We are still running from You
You, who sent the universe into motion
You, who’s held our hand through all this commotion
You, who’s love is so rich and sweet
You, we hardly come to meet
I know I’m running scared
God, please make me more prepared
