Just Me?
They talk about relationships,
And how we should build them.
But do they know,
How it truly is for some?
Can they see,
What someone fights for?
What we have to be careful of,
And how much we have to fend for?
Do they understand,
The things you have to risk.
The ones you have to watch for,
The people who are materialistic.
How many of them,
Live in shyness for a reason?
Do they know the sorrow,
And disappointment it can bring?
How do they talk,
About a constantly changing society?
A way of life,
That they know nothing about?
Does fear grasp,
Them till it’s hard to breathe?
Does overprotection,
Rule over them and hold them back?
Obviously it’s not the same,
To live then and live now.
Sit on the sidelines,
And think it becomes easier.
They give us challenges,
That we wonder if we can accomplish.
They push us onward,
And it gets harder to breathe.
Concern builds up,
While fear enforces it.
How can we go on,
Without completing challenge at hand?
Is it ever going to be enough,
To just be me?
Or must I conform,
Into someone I’m not?
