Take A Stand
There comes a time,
When one must fight.
When the night comes,
There is no room for flight.
When one goes there,
There is no return.
They say go one way,
But it’s just another U-turn.
Following destruction,
In the pale moonlight.
You know the feeling well,
Almost able to recite.
A stab in the back,
Also goes through the heart.
It’s a sweet sensation,
That easily turns tart.
I watch you lie,
And try and hide.
It’s sickening,
To know I cried.
Sometimes you take a stand,
But are pushed back down.
I try to walk away from darkness,
And fit that heavenly gown.
How can I shine,
When I have to please others?
When I get to spread my wings,
I always get smothered.
