Once Upon A Time
I should think you a shining knight
and I the ugly dragon you must slay
Your knives are your eyes hateful gaze
they bleed my heart out every day
to save the damsel in distress
you cannot help but hinder me
you kill my soul to save her grace
with your oh so thoughtful chivalry
As if I were a bitter hag
who cast on your lot a curse
but you utter words that farther harm
spells that do me ill and kill me first
If I ever were a princess
I must have seemed an ogre in disguise
a convicted witch in Salem's trials
could not have earned much less to die
You idle in her delight
through pages of your gilded book
my tale at the bottom of your drawer
dusty with all its stolen looks
Your devotion to that girl
was a blow upon me struck
in the swampy muddle of my lustlands
will my abandoned heart lie stuck
You might as well defeat me,
in a joust of honor in its trend
take out your lance and here I fall
Happily ever end
