Flames
I don’t see you at first,
I smell you,
And right away I know I’m in trouble,
You smell of ash and smoke,
Danger!
I panic,
Running away from you,
But you follow,
Taking your time,
Making sure to do as much damage as possible,
I watch from the sidelines as you devour my soul,
Burning all my memories,
But you don’t think twice,
It’s not like you care,
You just shrug it off,
Destruction is your life,
You feed off of fear,
And yet I am enchanted,
You captivate me,
With your essence,
Your movements are like a dance,
They entice me,
Like a moth to a flame,
How ironic,
I hold myself together,
In front of you I have to be strong,
I can’t crumble,
I can’t be weak,
You charge on your path of destruction,
Disintegrating everything you touch,
Reducing all I am,
To ash.
