Anton the Bear

I've met plenty of women in my life
whose hearts burn
with fiery passion
and deep resolve to find true love
Women who've lived and loved
B*******, Cheaters, Men about town
A school boy with an aged look in his eyes
He is no wiser than any of us
She flits about as though she were an angel on the ground
grasping the young men and older gentlemen
tearing them apart with her emotions
her love
she is a falsehood, she speaks nothing but lies
I've said it once and I'll say it again
they can love nothing more than their lapdogs

I've met but one man in my life
I loved him and married him
spent my youth
fixated on him
though he betrayed me with women
my wealth was all he desired
his death is a chance
for me to prove him wrong
I shall show him how I can love
forever and always
I'll stay locked away
in these four walls
until the day I die
My love will be proven
I can love nothing more

They meet under aggravated circumstances
a rent due
a day mourned
exchanging of money halted
he asks for a shot of vodka
she asks him to leave
words and opinions
sparked argument
a man and woman scorned
in love
a challenge is set
a duel agreed
from behind the barrel of a gun
they've fallen
HARD AND FAST.

What inspired me was Anton Chekhov's one act play The Bear.
