Broken
How do you expect me to pray,
When I’m in so much pain?
How do you expect the truth,
When the truth hurts?
How can I just cry,
When all I wanted to do was die?
Beyond these eyes, there’s pain.
Beyond this smile, there’s hurt.
In this heart, there are wounds.
How can I still tolerate this
When they’ve hurt me so bad, so many times?
Everyone tells me it will be fine
But in reality, will it ever be?
I’ll be lost until then,
Broken inside.
I’ll feed everyone lies, so they’re satisfied
But if you look deep in these eyes,
It’s the truth you will see, that cries.
