Trapped
I am a girl,
ready to explode
into emptiness.
A piece of ice
ready to melt
unnoticed
into nothing.
Desperately grabbing
reality
trying to not go
insane
trying to find
who I am.
I reflect
an unclear image
of who
you want me to be.
Trapped,
caged,
in the distorted image
of who I am.
I scream,
I thrash,
I claw
my way
until I
momentarily
escape
from the bonds
that you have
caught me in.
When I do,
I dance,
and sing,
and express
who I am.
Free from
everything
I am not.
