Music in My Mind

The dusty instrument,
Pay no heed,
For the sound hangs in the air;
The clear melody of a piano,
Playing the music;
The music of my life.
The music,
Washes over me,
Lifts my feet off the ground,
I forget reality,
Only seeing the skies
In which to fly.
Feels like a glass of cold water,
But also a warm cookie,
Revitalizing but bringing me
Back to my daydreams.
But sound fades and only earth remains,
With music in my mind fading like shadows.
