You picked me up
Dusted me off
In the process,
You also wrote your name …
On my heart
But for me to write mine
You’d have to be forced
Tie you with chains
Hold you, heart and brain apart
But you confuse me
Sometimes it feels
Feels like your heart waits…
For me to write on it
And then it feels as if
It waits for another to dart
Forgive me
But I will always wait
Wait for the moment
The moment you weaken
The moment your brain
learns to see
That moment
Where your heart will be free
To speak for itself
And maybe
Just maybe
It will choose me
