Painted Sky
I am a young Mexican girl
I am the sun waiting to rise on the horizon.
My goals and dreams roll in like waves on a distant shore.
Just as trees change in the fall,
I’m a different person than I was before.
My sky is gold, painted with images of hope and faith.
It’s time to realize my dreams,
To find myself in this crazy world.
Time to stop hiding tears, secrets, and my deepest fears.
I am who I am.
I am in a gaze that will soon become clear.
I have determination, drive, and desire to succeed.
Because I am a young Mexican girl,
Who will change the world one day.
