Melt Away
I've never had a
Chocolate covered cherry
Until today.
The sweet cherry juice and the
Smooth, rich chocolate
Mixed happily with the
Bitter-sweet boldness of the
Coffee on my tounge like
A symphony
And it reminded me of the
First time I tasted your lips
On mine in the
Warm house away from the
Freezing swirl of
Winter storms
And snowflakes,
And like the cherry,
It was something I
Would remember,
Something to cherish,
Something to savor,
Because the fleeting
Sweetness on my tounge
Melts away too fast,
Leaving nothing but
A trace of
Something sugary
And sweet and
Perfect,
Like the perfect
And sweet
And sugary flavor
Of your tounge
And the lovely
And soft curve of
Your perfectly molded
Lips against mine
That alway seem to
Melt away
All too quickly
Into that wonderful
Smile I love so much,
But what makes it
So perfect
Is living for those
Fleeting moments
And remembering
The perfection,
And waiting for
Them to return
For you to grasp
For a perfect
And cherished,
Savory, unforgettable moment
Once again.
