Life is slipping out of his grasp..
His children only 13 and 10,
Life is slipping out of his grasp..
as we sit around his hospital bed,
listening to the heart monitor.. beep beep..
the suffering silence rests upon us all,
the nurse enters periodically
with a reassuring frown upon her face,
Tears wiped away,
soft cries just carry on by,
afraid to look into anyone's eyes,
not wanting to see their pain,
His life is slipping out of our grasp..
