Dear Mr. President,
Do you hear our cries?
Our pleas for help,
In a time of war,
Dear Mr. President,
Do you hear our cries?

Dear Mr. President,
Do you know our pain?
Not only with rocks and stones,
but with bombs and unspoken words,
Dear Mr. President,
Do you know our pain?

Dear Mr. President,
Do you see our tears?
As we sob over unnessicary and horrible deaths,
Of our loved ones,
Dear Mr. President,
Do you see our tears?

Dear Mr. President,
Do you know how we live?
In small refugee camps,
With checkpoints that destroy our dignity,
Dear Mr. President,
Do you know how we live?

Dear Mr. President,
Do you know what we see everyday?
People fighting and dying,
Always living in fear,
Dear Mr. President,
Do you know what we see everyday?

Dear Mr. President,
Do you know how we feel?
About the Arabs, about the expolsions and blood,
About things that kids should not have to see or hear,
Dear Mr. President,
Do you know how we feel?

Dear Mr. President,
Why don't you help?
To try with all your power,
To prevent anymore lives lost,
Dear Mr. President,
Why don't you help?

I wrote this poem when we were studying the Middle East in school. This poem is the Palestinian view of the war against the Arabs.
