The Forgotten
We wear the skins
Of those long gone
Keeping the look
Alive and still
We see with dead eyes
Silently dark and blank
Where quiet light flows
Through hushed corridors.
Memories long away faded
After their holder
Can keep them
No more
Feuding with death
Fighting cold fists
Too hard to stay ourselves
Forever and later after
We wear the grins
Of the smiling dead
We of the void
We who have been forgotten
