Black Shatter Nail Polish
When you first see it,
it looks like a mess,
like someone painted their their nails black,
and then didn't remove the polish when it chipped away to nothing but mismatched, jagged-edged pieces,
but then, as you look closer,
you realize that underneath it is a glittery, light pink, and that, as dark and chaotic and imperfect as the black that covers it is,
the pink is soft and gentle and achieved its beauty through tenderness and enough patience to wait for you to see it,
to recognize it,
and to realize that there's more to the whole picture than a first glance can reveal.
