Lucky Snooker Club
Sat back, tea and biscuits,
the usual hang out spot.
Bean bags, full of people,
horror movie on the screen,
then I met her.
Short and quick, all
the time the conversation
lasted. A pretty face almost
knocked me out with a snooker
club. My heart leapt with fear
The whole night following,
my eyes were locked in place.
Something about her confused
me, and when she smiled
I lost all thought.
We talked more each day,
each conversation adding more
wonders to this girl.
Upon hearing her longing
for another man, I sank.
She talked of him with
such passion, I vowed
to help this beauty
find her beast, though
want found a place within.
2 hours was all it took,
her smile, her embrace,
the laughter that filled
the room around her.
She had to be mine.
Each moment spent
at her side filled me
with joy, her eyes
enough to drown
any man, myself included.
We sat at the river bank,
alone at last, i thought,
when, all at once, two
others came along, filling
me with dread and fear.
She grabbed my hand,
so quick and softly, her fingers
intertwined, she pulled me away,
away from myself, the world around
us, she saved me from my own fear.
I thought that things never
ended well when you
fall for someone like her,
so hard and so fast,
but the beauty, found her beast.
