Tonight's Dream
Beneath the leaves
Of this solemn tree
I lay with you
And you with me
Upon your chest
I lay my head
And glance at the sky
That is now stained red
The sun is departing
And with her taking her light
A new moon takes her place
And stars come into sight
Then a whispering wind
Brings music to the site
We sit and listen
Like an ancient rite
From a mile away
A lone wolf howls
Warning his prey
That tonight he prowls
But nothing tonight
Will crumble my calm
Because here I feel safe
My hand in your palm
My eyes feel heavy
As midnight peeks
I feel your soft fingers
Stroke my cheek
I hear your heart’s beating
Like a lullaby in my ear
My mind begins to slur
And sleep draws near
Sometime in the night
While I dream of today
From you I hear a whisper
I love you, you say

This is a really pretty poem, very nice imagery[:
I think the end would be even prettier if instead of rhyming the last word, you just left a beat and then I love you. Meaning like..
"Sometime int he night
While I dream of today
From you I hear a whisper
I love you"
See what I mean? I don't know, just an idea. I'm still rather fond of it, good work[:

This was such a cute poem! I love the mixture of love and nature. Captivated me from the start :) I think I'll have to tag this as one of my faves for now...
Could you look at ANY 1 or 2 of my work and comment?
Thanks girl :)
