Looking Isn't Seeing.
Do you ever look at something
and wonder what its story is?
The bench on the corner of your street.
Was it the last thing a young girl saw
before she was killed in an accident?
Was it the place where a man sat
and gave a smile to stranger?
Saving a life in the process?
That fence around the empty lot.
Was it built to keep someone out?
Or to keep them in?
Have you ever really seen?
The hooker on the street corner.
Have you ever seen the pain
she's harboring deep down?
Did you ever think that maybe.
Just maybe.
she's stronger than she looks?
That she has honest intentions?
Have you ever heard the pain
behind someone's "I'm okay."?
Or were you deaf to it?
Have you ever seen someone
walking down the street
that looked lonely and said "Hi"?
Have you ever thought
that the smile you gave to a stranger
on your way down the street
could save their life?
