Forgotten Past.
I sit in silence with my head in my hands.
Wondering if it'll ever get better.
I hear the nearby laughter of bliss.
The sound of the childhood I was
cheated.
I stand and watch the children play.
I watch them rum in the wind,
Pretending they had wings.
I notice the little girl..
She reminds me of me..
My forgotten past.
Brown hair, skinny, sad face..
And the light tint of a bruise on her
neck.
Before I can tell them to move,
I find myself walking towards her.
I ask her why she's not playing.
And she says she doesn't want to play.
That she's better off alone.
