A part of that crowd
Have you ever felt like the person you once knew the most,
is now the person you know the least?
Have you ever felt the guilt of having to watch that person,
walk down a road you know they shouldn’t take?
Have you ever tried to stop them…but failed?
Have you ever tried to love them,
But get nothing in return?
Have you ever had to turn your back on them,
And watch them as they failed?
Have you ever tried to help them and get rejected and ridiculed?
Being a “good kid” shouldn’t have to be this way…
But it is.
I won’t give up, and I won’t give in to the ways of that world.
I refuse to be a part of the “cool crowd”.
I am myself, I am happy, and I am free from the pressures of DRUGS.
Why don’t we stand up to being in that crowd?
Let’s stand up for the smart kids, who will be somebody in life,
Let’s stand up for the singers, who have dreams,
Let’s stand up for the writers and the artists, who have goals,
Let’s stand up for Us.
