Favorite Quote:
My heart is blind, that so it can love the soul that is too bright for the eyes to see.

My silver wings
Long to fly;
Like my heart,
They crave the sky.
Yet heavy chains
Tie me down;
Amongst this chaos,
I feel like I’ll drown.

I dream at night
Of soaring high,
But trapped here
I’m in line to die.
My silver wings
Long to spread,
To kiss the wind,
To freedom be wed.

My silver wings
Were forcefully broken;
Crushed to pieces
By words unspoken.
Crippled I lay,
As they simply stand by;
Undisturbed
By the tears I cry.

Yet tired and worn,
And ripping at the seam,
My silver wings
Persist to dream.
A butterfly child
Born to fly;
It’s who I am
And it’s who I’ll die.

The author's comments:
I gaze at the butterfly as it flutters past. How I wish I was
she, how I wish I could fly. I dream of spreading my wings, and
lifting myself off this chaotic world, off this earth full of
cruelty and discrimination. To be weightless, and leave behind
the burdens of my life. I wish and dream to be she, the
butterfly, free to fly. My silver wings long to be free.

Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, but learning to dance in the rain.
