My Monster Is You...
Staying awake in the middle of the night
All because of a simple fright
No, not a monster under my bed
Or an imaginary creature in my head
Simply memories of you
That I can't keep away no matter what I do
They follow me into my dreams and tear me apart
Even though there isnt much left of my heart
It kills me to say sleep used to be my safe haven you know
But you took that from me and what left do I have to show
I've cried over you so much these last few weeks
I try to be strong but all I can think is 'no you're too weak'
I can't eat and sleep isn't possible now
But I want to fix myself but how?
Everyone has a monster that they have to face
Another moster maybe from the same place
That monster can hurt you more than anything
I know to this i should probally be traverse
But I have seen it first hand
That some of our lives take place in no man's land
Everyone has a monster whether it be secret or not
It's something everyone has got
And thats not new
But I do have to admit my monster is you...
