You bring out the flavor in me,
The zing spice nip in me,
And in one bite you could take it all.

You don't see
That you bring out the fire in me,
The hot salt-and-pepper in me,
Shaking through my veins.
You bring it out –
That mischief in me,
The move shake drop,
The swivel of my hips to the beat.
1, 2, 3
1, 2, 3
You bring it out.

You bring out that something in me,
The sizzle of my tongue, the tapping of my feet, the curling of my hair,
The back and forth,
Forth and back,
The sparkle in my eye –
Bring it out, bring it out.
Out comes the culture of me,
The pollo con arroz, the okra, the mac and cheese,
Wrapped into one, at your feet
In plain sight.
So you can see …

That you bring out the flavor in me,
The crunch crisp fresh,
The aaaahh of me,
The gulp and finish of me.
You bring it out,
Out for the world to see.

But you don't see.

The rhythm here is so great, I found myself wanting to read it out loud. I like how the beat of the words compliments the imagery.
