Pathways
We always have a path, I think,
and that path is ours to choose.
We can go and make a lot of friends
or stay home and invoke our muse.
We can go door to door to save
those who we love and care for,
or we can go out clubbing and drinking,
waking up in the garbage and drink some more.
We can beat our heads to the bone
sell our house and take out a lease
or we could build a life on good conduct,
show mercy and have peace.
The choice is ours - we are tomorrow.
As for me, I won’t charge my friends for what they borrow.
I will take the path rarely tread
and see where it leads me.
