Childhood Shadow
I woke up today
Missing something
I’ve always had
A childhood friend
My shadow broke off
And took a leap into
The ocean to find
The sunken treasure left behind
The sun has never
Shown just right
But looking down
A part of me is gone
My shadow broke off
And ran away
To a castle
Where rubies and
Princes wait for me
Walking on a straight road
Is less promising
When all you can see
Behind you is road left behind
Because my shadow broke off
To find my childhood wishes
To fly to the moon
Waddle with penguins
And cast magic spells
Without going through the fear
I know it will return
When my wishes come true
