My Superhero
When I grew up, you always took care of me
and if you ever resented that, I didn't see
If I'd fall, you'd hold my hand while I cried
and if I had a secret, to you I'd confide
And then I grew older and I didn't need you anymore
But you stayed by my side just to make sure
And as friends, boys, and parents support would fade
You were the one person who always stayed
And one day we found out you'd been hit by a car
you were killed, and the driver left the scene without a scar
and I still can't believe he would drink and get behind that wheel
He wouldn't have done it if he had to feel the pain I feel
Since you left, there's so much I've been through
I just can't explain how much I've been missing you
So I hope you're listening, because I need you to know
You will always be my superhero
