My heart hurts
When you talk about her
{always}
I get it
I understand
{you still love her}
I’m okay with that
But
Sometimes
I need to know
{am I just a replacement?}
Am I just someone
For you to hold
{when your arms long for her?}
You apologize
I smile
Say it’s alright
I understand
{because I do}
I understand
That you never wanted her to leave
And I understand
That you want her back
And
{even though it hurts}
It’s still something
Because now
I have someone to hold
{even if you wish it was her}
I have someone
To tell me they care
{even if it’s a lie}
And even if it hurts
For me to say this
I still love you.

I've had a story running around in my head all day, and I know that I'll never get around to actually writing it, so instead I wrote a poem on what I (would have) put the character through.

Dear Mikaykay,

     I still can't believe you wrote angsty teenage poetry.  I mean, I believe you wrote it.  The lyricism is yours and everything.  It's just . . . I never thought you'd actually write something like this.  Yayyy!  I loves it so very freaking muchly so.  That is all.

          Luv, hugs, and naku no yate,

I like this. It's different and I know how you feel about wanting to write down a great idea you have but knowing you'll never get to it or won't finish it and not wanting it to go to waste.

Good idea about the whole thing!
