Just To Know
Delicate yet feisty
Fragile but spirited
Every rose has its thorns
She was beautiful there was no doubt in his mind
But she was so filled with hubris, with pride
That the beauty was barely shown from behind
She loved him
He loved her back
But in time
Beautiful as she was
Delicate yet feisty
Fragile but spirited
He needed to leave
To find himself
To explore the world
Leaving her with lowly companions
She’d never associate with those of that kind
She was a champion
But she did just that
Mingled
Cavorted
Learned to love
The companionship of those under her
She waited
For she yearned for beauty like her own
She tolerated
For one must put up with caterpillars
She thought to herself
If one wants to know a butterfly
