Mud Garden
I let my feet sink into the mud today
It was a horrendous feeling that left them weak and tingling
The mud dried on my ankles in thick, cakey layers
But it still moved, paste-like, between my big toe and the other toe beside it
Beautiful thing, a mud garden
Easy on the mind, lovely to indulge in
Between the gray masses
Moonlight is blinding
And burns the skin
My gray eyes roved from heap to heap
All I saw was flowers, awaiting to grow through the mud
So that I could be carefree
And be released from my paper chains
