Last Night
when i got home last night
shifty eyes and tail between my legs
the smells of love and apple wine still on my lips
my blue jeans buttoned tight and
clinging to my hips
we played our parts-
we knew them already
because we had studied the pages
of our contemporary scripts.
i was the no-good daughter
who made her mother throw a fit.
