im my own worst enemy
life is so depressing
darkness covers my enemies
their intentions are not good
they never are
they only have one goal
stab you in the back
then watch you bleed
dying slowly
suffering
they love to watch me
they laugh as i fall
mocking me as i fight to get back up
telling me ill never make it
lacking understanding
no one knows
my worst enemy
is me

It has been said, ‘time heals all wounds.’ I do not agree. The wounds remain. In time, the mind, protecting its sanity, covers them with scar tissue and the pain lessens. But it is never gone.
