Ocean Eyes
I’m falling into the ocean,
your eyes are the ocean.
pulling me. dragging me. drowning me
in this green-blue sea.
your eyes are the sea that’s drowning me.
your eyes…
not the sun, not the dusty white sands;
not your gorgeous smile or you perfectly straight teeth,
your eyes.
your eyes are the salty lake,
the salty lake that’s drowning me;
showing no mercy,
there’s no hope now.
I struggle to breathe, reach for your hand,
look away,
but all I see is your eyes,
your ocean green eyes.
I’m drowning,
so slowly drowning
in them and
if the hypothermia and the sharks
don’t kill me first,
then I’ll let the currents pull me to my watery grave.
