La Voix
I wonder what it’d be like to let you talk me to sleep
To rest in your vocal chords
Woven between each strand of muscle and covered in sweet melody
Never would I have to part from it
The gravel that enters your throat the moment you stretch for that low note
The comforting, welcoming sounds you make when your voice goes high
There’s a broken beer bottle in there
The glass scratching on the walls
A little too much smoke—
Haunting
It’s not the way you say my name
But what you use to speak it
