I run hard to first after my hard, far hit.
I get there and no one has the ball.
I start to head for second.

Dust flies as I run.
I will not get out
I say to myself.

They are close to having the ball.
Can I make it to third?

I start to run.
I turn back and see the ball flying towards me.
I get down and slide.
Once the dust clears I saw that it was
over thrown!

My coach shouts for me to get up and go.
So I do. I jump up and sprint as hard as I can.

The pitcher now has the ball and is throwing to home.
What can I do?

I did the only thing that I could do.
SLIDE,
but I slid too early and couldn’t reach the plate!
The catcher hovered over me with the ball in her hands.
She didn't’t touch me at all.

Everyone watched and waited.
Know one knew what happened except me
and the ump.

I started to wiggle and started to squirm.
I started to do the worm.
Everyone looked at me like I was crazy.

Then when I was close enough I touched the plate.
SAFE!! The umpire called. The other team
was confused but,
I knew I was safe,
because I touched home plate.

I wrote this piece because it is true. If you read it you can tell that I love sports and that I will do anything even if its embarrassing to win.
