What I feel when in deaf and using my CI

As I move through the city,

I only feel the vibrations,

As someone shouts,

I don’t hear anything,

That is because I am deaf,

As I try to listen to someone,

I find it to be very difficult to understand if they go too fast,

As I try to read the lips of the speaker,

I cannot read at all
That is because I am deaf,

I only truly understand if they speak slowly,

I can easily read their lips if they go slowly,

If they want to talk to me,

They have to tap on me to get my attention,

And talk to me with ease.

The author's comments:
Umm, to tell the truth, I am really deaf with a CI (Cochlear Implant), which helps me to talk easily, even I'm deaf, I have trained to speak easily as the hearing. I'm still practicing... but most of the people understands me good.

We all do wish for that. Hi, I'm the author here, and I'm deaf, so this poem is true, and thank you for your comment. It made me happy.

I will never kniw the feeling but wish that deaf people could be treated like normal people.
