Climbing the Tree
Well friend, let me tell you,
My life's been no easy tree to climb.
It's had thorns,
And splinters,
And places where there's nothing to hold on.
Slipping.
But I keep climbing.
Pulling myself up,
One branch at a time,
My eye on the flowers up top.
When I get there this'll all-
Be worth it.
So friend, please listen.
You may loose your footing,
But hold on tight.
Find the strength to hold on
Till you get to the light.
I'm nearing the top,
And the view's just fine,
Though this life's been no easy tree to climb.
