So Long, Hun

Days and weeks and years pass by,
leaving me breathless...and hopeless.
Words pass between my ears
and I respond unthinking.
People move on, change,
become someone new entirely,
and I don't even notice til I begin to do the same.
We've spread so far, so different,
so incompatible.
Trying to fix everything
though no matter what
the puzzle doesn't fit anymore
...it's warped.
At least we still have people to turn to,
though we've lost each other.
I guess I'll see you later....
