I Ate My Heart
Today I ate my heart.
It tasted like cinnamon drenched in the ocean.
The blood stained my teeth.
I easily chewed on it.
It was already in small pieces.
Mother said not to waste food.
My heart is food.
Since you chewed it up and spit it out.
I’m left digesting the remains.
Yes, today I ate my heart.
And tomorrow I want to chew your heart up,
And spit it back out.
