Lovelorn Dream
Fallin’, fallin’.
My desperation is rising.
So frail and neglected.
The danger was presented
And with a gleeful heart I accepted.
I played with the devil's rose;
I was ripped open with its thorns.
Such a shame I was so naïve;
I went against everything I believe.
Just absolutely disgusting.
It's enough to make me want to scream.
Shakin', shakin’.
My failures rear their ugly head
Another pathetic plea
To another demented human being.
I can do so much better,
But I prefer my standards to the dirt floor.
Exaggeration is my strong point,
Reeling from a dreamed upon love.
Give me something to hold wide awake;
I'm sick of these porous games.
It's all part of this lovelorn dream.
