Summer Dreams
Blessed fragrances are the heart of a summer dream
Wistful and royal, but fleeting in their prime
Hold me, so that the grass growing between the ground and the sky
Will not cause me to sway because I am weak
Forgotten promises, resign me from their grasp
Days in the fields are much livelier without the clouds
Watch the River; it stretches its arms beneath your feet
Hum, can you even read this anymore?
Perhaps each word is an inky annoyance
And tomorrow you will be weighed down with rocks at your feet
So fly at least
While your wings are not tied
