Two Tall Towers
I am the white walls in an empty bedroom.
I am the abandoned house on the street corner.
I am the stray cat on the side of the road.
I am a person with no place to go.
I am the thunder in a lightning storm.
I am the one who is never warned.
I am the instrument that is out of tune.
I am the heat stroke of summer, in the middle of June.
I am the one who can’t be woken.
I am the words that are left unspoken.
I am the one who stands alone.
I am the wind that always gets blown.
I am the darkness, just after midnight.
I am the outcast, right in plain sight.
I am a reflection upon a broken mirror.
I am the one who shows no fear.
I am the exit behind a locked door.
I am the lion who could not roar.
I am the knowledge that isn’t power.
I am the collapse of two tall towers.
