A spirit's call
In the silence I hear
Whispers in my ear
As I tremble with fear
The monsters come near
Clutching and grasping all that is me
Wondering if there is anything more frightening than thee
The bloodthirsty creatures come out to bite
As the world as we know is swallowed by the night
My soul is diminishing as I slip away
To a whole new world that is far away
Crafty hands crawl up my spine
Wrapping themselves in an endless rhyme
Sheer terror
Filled with dread
Your time to go
It seemed they said
Black was all I saw from there
My heart stopped beating
I heard the tear
Sharp fangs had pierced my pale white skin
Sucking the life from deep within
All that’s left is ash and bones
Dark and despair
The only tones
On adrift,
A spirits call,
Don’t look back,
It warned us all
