Some say it’s just an institution created to help,
Us, students, to learn what is required.
Required for life.
How are they to know?
We learn things that are useless,
That you can’t connect to real life.
We sit in this prison
Day after day
Being lectured on life
What we will do when we leave
But they don’t prepare us
They don’t give us what we will truly need
They give us what ‘they’ are told to.
Told by the government,
People in the government never attended here.
They went to places that were elite.
Places that were privileged.
That gave them what they needed.
Yet they cut us short
Why?
They take away and short cut us
We need to fight back
Claim what is ours
We need to make our system better
Improve our hell, prison
Help us improve ourselves
Make it better;
Public school!
